AN AI mirror that can tell if you’re at risk of disease from just one 30-second pose has been revealed.
Candian tech brand NuraLogix unveiled the Anura MagicMirror at CES 2024 in Las Vegas.
The U.S. Sun was one of the first to test it out with some interesting and slightly offensive results.
Highlights included the mirror telling me my “facial skin age” is seven years older than I actually am.
It also told me I need to work on reducing my mental stress.
The MagicMirror picked up one irregular heartbeat and a range of other statistics during my 30 seconds of staring into the digital mirror face.
It works by analyzing your blood flow while also extracting information from key regions of your face.
NuraLogix explains: “Anura MagicMirror leverages the company’s patented Transdermal Optical Imaging (TO)technology, a novel form of Remote Photoplethysmography (rPPG) to automatically detect a person’s face, identify key regions of interest, and extract blood flow information.
“The data is sent to the cloud-based DeepAffex platform, which uses advanced signal processing and machine learning AI algorithms to calculate over 100 health parameters.”
The mirror can also predict disease risks and will provide a percentage of how likely you are to have heart disease or a stroke.
It also detects type-2 diabetes risks and whether you’re facing fatty liver disease.
At the end of the mirror’s results list is an overall wellness score out of 100.
I scored 80 out of 100, which I was assured was good.
Each parameter measured is shown on a colorful line of red, yellow, and green.
A healthy user will see all their result situated in the green region.
The mirror isn’t designed for home use just yet so there’s no consumer pricing information.
Nuralogix told me: “It’s more for a kiosk, or a pharmacy, or a doctor’s office, or a health hub of some sort.
“But we do sell this software individually as well.”
