SUPERSUB Cody Gakpo came off the bench to continue his love affair with the Carabao Cup.
The Dutchman had scored in all three previous rounds of the competition before firing Liverpool into a half-time lead of their semi-final with Fulham.
Virgil van Dijk had earlier dropped a clanger to give Fulham a surprise lead at Anfield.
The Liverpool captain was a doubt for the game after missing Sunday’s FA Cup win at Arsenal through illness.
But after returning to the side, he made a rare error, mistiming a jump to head the ball to Andreas Pereira in his own box.
The playmaker then teed up Willian, who kept his footing to ride a challenge and fire into the bottom corner on 19 minutes.
Fulham should have made it 2-0 when Bobby Decordova-Reid broke down the right – but took on the shot himself rather than squaring for Pereira.
Moments later, the Cottagers were made to pay when Curtis Jones’ speculative strike deflected off Tosin Adarabioyo and looped over Bernd Leno into the back of the net.
And it went from 1-1 on 68 minutes to 2-1 after 71 when Gakpo turned the tie on its head, combining with fellow sub Darwin Nunez to put the Reds ahead with a smart near-post finish.
