A PENNY-PINCHER’S quest for treasure at the thrift store finally paid off.
It seemed that she was rewarded for heeding the advice of others.
“I always hear people say check the bags at thrift stores and I finally did it,” said the savvy shopper behind (@godsjunk).
She slowly opened a vintage black clutch until finally revealing her lucky find.
“At first all I found was a couple of envelopes and then bam,” she said.
The stunned thrifter gave a closer glimpse of her discovery.
“A whole freaking wad of cash,” she said.
After careful counting the total was in.
Her loot came to $45.
She had definitely gotten the most bang for her bargain buck.
And being able to pocket some newfound cash wasn’t even the best part.
“It even had this cool older $20 bill,” she said.
After cashing in, she was going to try to repeat her luck.
“I’m going to be hardcore checking every bag at the thrift from here on out,” she explained.
Many of her fans were left dumbfounded at the discovery.
“Y’all be thrifting money? I’m done, l never thrift right,” said this shocked follower.
Others told tales of their own treasures.
“My mom found $600 in a coat one time,” this viewer shared.
“Check the pillows too. I found $750 inside a throw pillow,” another watcher explained.
Yet another follower was even more interested in the actual bills than the overall dollar amount.
“Hold on to that $20 may be worth something,” she said.
It turns out that thrifty finds can translate to big bucks.
According to lovetoknow.com, a $15 necklace purchased at a flea market turned out to be worth over $300,000.
Meanwhile, a $4 unframed copy of the Declaration of Independence later fetched $2.4 million at auction.
