UFC star Matt Brown has questioned whether Conor McGregor will ever fight again.
McGregor has been out since July 2021, when he broke his leg in the first round against Dustin Poirier.
The Irishman recently announced online that he is fighting Michael Chandler on June 29 – but the UFC are yet to confirm the claim.
And it has led welterweight veteran Brown to throw doubt over whether the blockbuster bout is truly on or not.
He told MMAFighting: “Is Conor going to fight again?
“I know he announced that. He loves being in the spotlight. He likes everybody talking about him.
“He likes that we’re talking about him right now. That’s what he lives for now. I don’t believe it still. Until I see it, I’m not going to believe it.”
McGregor, 35, is the highest earner in UFC history, having also made a reported £80million to fight boxing legend Floyd Mayweather.
In 2021, he also sold the majority stake in his Proper 12 whiskey and banked £120m for it.
So it leaves Brown struggling to see father-of-four McGregor finding the motivation to get back in the cage.

He said: “He doesn’t need to fight. What purpose does it serve him? He’s not getting back to a title.
“He’s not going to do anything significant ever again. He’s got $500 million in the bank.
“What’s a few million for fighting somebody like Chandler? What’s that going to do for him? That would be like if I gave you $10.
“You’d be like, ‘Alright, what do you want me to do with this?’ It’s not even going to change your day, nonetheless your life.
“He doesn’t have any motivation whatsoever to do this other than being in the spotlight.”
