This is useful if you’re tired of using multiple remotes for different gadgets.

The only catch is, the devices need to be wired up with the right kind of cables.

If the gadgets in your TV setup are HDMI CEC compatible and connected by HDMI cables, the trick should work.

First, you’ll need to head to your Fire TV Stick settings.

Next, click on Display and Sounds and you’ll see a selection of options pop up.

Scroll to HDMI CEC Device Control and select it.

You’ll be able to adjust the settings in this section depending on the devices you want to control.

It should be possible to connect things like a soundbar or a cable box.

You may also be able to use your voice to control third-party devices.

Amazon says: “Fire TV devices automatically detect compatible equipment and provide an on-screen interface to add them.”

If your third-party equipment isn’t being detected by a Fire TV, you can try and add it to the setup manually.

Go to Settings and then click on Equipment Control.

Next, select Manage Equipment and then click Add Equipment.

You should then see compatible devices pop up and select the ones you’d like to add.

Amazon notes: “Select Advanced Settings on this screen to activate or deactivate Automated Device Discovery.”
