AT some point every parent has had to play referee between two siblings that are at loggerheads – especially if they share a bedroom.

In a perfect world everyone would have their own room to minimise household tension.

But with house prices rocketing and waiting list times for council housing extending, most of us have to make do with what we’ve got.

Mum of three teens, Carly, did exactly that and more after she had had just about enough of her boys fighting over games, controllers and space.

She explained: “They were arguing over the TV, games, the computer and things like that.

After reaching the end of her tether this mum decided to build an extra bedroom space to divide her teenage boys and provide them with their own space.

In a clip shared on TikTok the savvy mum (@Carlychristinex) shares her bedroom creation and her followers are in awe of her initiative.

‘Where did you get the room divider from?’ they asked.

To which she replied, ‘I made it!’

Carly’s followers we’re stunned by how she pulled off this genius idea for under £100, with many left inspired to do the same to utilise space in their own homes.

Carly starts her video by complaining about the washing basket spilling over with the boy’s laundry and continues to share with her followers what gave her this genius idea to create another room space.

“Obviously we’d all like another bedroom but I haven’t got that so I had to make do with  what we’ve got basically.”

This savvy mum designed and installed another bedroom space by using a large piece of Plywood to divide the boys bedroom into two, and all for just under £100.

The divider wood is almost as high as the bedroom ceiling, providing her teen boys with their own space and privacy.

Not only that, they both have their own TV’s mounted on each side of the wooden divider to stop them bickering over the controller.

In a previous clip followers can see the process on how she did it and what materials she used.

A troll accused the savvy mum of lying about her costs because it looks that good. In another TikTok clip Carly gives her response.

She says: “What would be the point of lying?”

The savvy mum goes on to share other money saving tips like using left over paint and nails to make it work for her £100 budget.

With almost 7K likes most followers were impressed by how professional her new bedroom creation turned out.

One commenter said: “Fantastic idea! And your boys are spotless.”

Another chimed in saying: “I love how you split the room, great idea!”
