A WOMAN has revealed that she used to get her food shopping from Aldi, but now she’s switched to M&S.
“I’ve been on and off doing my food shop at M&S since March.
“And let’s just bear in mind I swapped from Aldi to M&S.

“Aldi used to be my go to. I wouldn’t buy anything from anywhere else. I loved it.
“But when they started swapping their quality for quantity and then upping their prices, I knew that I had to go somewhere else.”
Gabrielle’s claims are despite Which? recently naming Aldi the cheapest supermarket for the third year running.
Gabrielle admitted that she much prefers M&S, as she added: “I went to M&S to do my food shop and I had low expectations because I thought it was so expensive in there, but it turns out that I was so wrong.
“And look, it might not work for you, but it works for me, because if I help someone save money, or someone gets better quality food for their money, I’m gonna do it.
“Not only was I saving pennies here and there, but I found that the quality of food at Marks & Spencer is so much better than at Aldi.
“Whilst it might be cheaper overall by a couple of quid to shop at Aldi – I’m not about buying things twice. I’d rather buy it once and it lasts for the week.”
But social media users were divided at Gabrielle’s thoughts – while many shared her appreciation for M&S, not everyone was on the same page.
One person said: “People say M&S is so expensive but I think it’s reasonably priced tbh!”
Another added: “It’s a million times better than Aldi!”
To this, Gab replied: “I just can’t stand Aldi at all now.”
A third commented: “I used to go to M&S every night for reduced items, it was insane!! Love M&S quality.”
Whilst someone else penned: “M&S for basics especially (veg, dairy, certain meats) have brilliant prices.”
However, not everyone agreed, as one foodie wrote: “I’ve always had good dates and quality from Aldi.”
A second chimed in: “I’ve never ever found it cheaper.”
Whilst another claimed: “My veg lasts two weeks from Aldi and the fresh meat is good too.”
An Aldi spokesperson said: “Which? named Aldi the cheapest supermarket for the last three years and our promise to shoppers is that we will always provide the lowest grocery prices in Britain.
“Value is the number one consideration for most households and as the lowest-priced supermarket in Britain our customers will always pay less for their shop with Aldi.”
