Meryl Streep reunited with her Sophie’s Choice leading men – Kevin Kline and Peter MacNicol – for the 40th anniversary screening of the film at the Museum of Modern Art in Manhattan on Tuesday.

Alan J. Pakula’s psychological drama centered on naïve writer Stingo (MacNicol) befriending Polish immigrant Zofia ‘Sophie’ Zawistowska (Streep) and her emotionally-unstable lover Nathan Landau (Kline) in 1947.

Sophie’s Choice marked the big-screen debut of Kevin (due to The Pirates of Penzance’s delay) and it was Peter’s second feature film role after Dragonslayer in 1981.

Meanwhile, Meryl mastered a flawless Polish accent for her jaw-dropping portrayal of an Auschwitz prisoner forced to choose which of her two children would be sent to the gas chamber, which she nailed in one take.

The 74-year-old acting legend wound up winning the second of her three Academy Awards for her stunning performance in the 151-minute, $9M-budget big-screen adaptation of William Styron’s 1979 novel.

Streep sweetly took the 76-year-old Oscar winner’s hand and led him over to the Lanvin-sponsored poster to pose alongside the 69-year-old Emmy winner.

Meryl (born Mary Louise) continued to hold Kevin’s hand as they faced a throng of photographers at the nostalgic New York event.

The Only Murders in the Building star looked sharp in a black skirt suit over a crisp white blouse and black pumps selected by stylist Micaela Erlanger.

Streep wore her flaxen mane down for the cinematic soirée and she wore classic 1950s-style glasses over her minimally made-up complexion.

Kline opted for a grey suit and blue necktie while Peter looked dapper in a black suit over a white unbuttoned shirt.

The talented trio appeared to have a blast reminiscing and catching up after four decades.

The Bob’s Burgers star will next portray widower and novelist Stephen Brigstocke in Alfonso Cuarón’s seven-episode psychological thriller Disclaimer, which premieres later this year on Apple TV+.

The small-screen adaptation of Renée Knight’s 2015 novel centers on a journalist (Cate Blanchett) discovering she’s a prominent character in a secret-revealing novel.
