This immense success has clearly prompted Netflix to bring it back, making it their biggest hit to date.
The streaming giant confirmed that season two of The Night Agent is in production.
In an Instagram and Twitter post, Netflix hinted at the start of filming with a photo of actor, Gabriel Basso, who plays FBI Agent Peter Sutherland.
In an exciting Instagram post, he held up a clapperboard to announce the start of series two, episode one, playfully scolding the camera.
The next slide showcased a thrilling video of Gabriel soaring in a helicopter, taking in the breathtaking cityscape.
Fans were eagerly anticipating the next installment after binge-watching the first season, which was released in March last year.
The 10-part action-thriller is based on the novel by Matthew Quirk – and introduces us to low-ranking FBI agent Peter (Gabriel Basso), who works in the gloomy basement of the White House, manning a phone that never rings.
But everything changes one night when Peter receives a call that lifts the lid on a conspiracy that points to a Russian mole at the highest levels of the US government.
Fans erupted with joy and flooded social media platform, X/Twitter to express their excitement.
One wrote: “OMG YES!!!!”

Meanwhile on Netflix, users were left divided after the Cobra Kai cast teased that the upcoming season will be the “biggest, baddest season yet”.
The streamer has confirmed that the sixth instalment of the hit show will be the last and final chapter.
The sixth and final series is set to wrap up production in late July, but there is no official announcement regarding its release date.
However, there have been widespread reports that Cobra Kai will return in 2024, suggesting a potential airing around December.
The Night Agent’s first season is available to watch on Netflix.
