Steve Smith flips Bronte home for nearly double the $3.5m price tag he paid in 2019

Cricket great Steve Smith has walked away with an eye-watering profit of $2.75million after finally offloading his pad in Sydney‘s eastern suburbs for $6.75million.

Smith, 34, was originally seeking $7million-plus for the four-bedroom, three-bathroom Bronte property which he has had on the market since last October.

He bought the original California bungalow in 2019 for $3.505million and later splashed out a reported $495,000 on a massive renovation which included adding a second level, bathrooms and a fourth bedroom.

Smith cancelled two scheduled auctions in the hopes for getting his original price before lowering the sales guide to $6.5million reports The Daily Telegraph.

Located just 9kms from the CBD and situated only streets away from Bronte beach, the new design has converted the mid-20th century original into a chic ultra-modern resort style home.

Highlights include an expansive open plan layout, European oak floors and a salt water plunge pool.

There’s also an under cover outdoor entertainment deck/BBQ area, a limestone terrace and a heated outdoor shower.

Other highlights include an over-sized kitchen with breakfast island, marble bench tops and induction cooker.

Meanwhile, the second storey main bedroom boasts a private balcony which offers stunning ocean views.

According to property records Smith’s sale is well above the median of $5.8million for the neighbourhood.

Aside from his accomplishments as a record-breaking first-class cricket champ, Smith and his wife Dani Willis are known for their interest in real estate.

Last year the couple sold off an amazing pad in the prestigious Sydney suburb of Vaucluse.

The pair scored a whopping $12.38million for the four-bedroom, three-bathroom after Smiths splashed out on a massive renovation.

The sale came after the couple bought it for $6.5million in 2020.
