Social media reacts to Super Bowl 2024 halftime show: H.E.R. is confused for NORTH WEST while fans praise Usher for not lip-synching and pushing through sound quality struggles

H.E.R. was confused for North West by several fans the Super Bowl LVIII halftime show on Sunday.

Some social media users expressed their confusion as the R&B singer, 26, who collaborated on a song titled Risk It All, took the stage during Usher‘s performance at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas.

With her hair up in space buns and eyes shielded by a pair of retro shades, she slightly resembled Kim Kardashian and Kanye West‘s eldest daughter, 10.

Other X users heaped on the praise for Usher, who almost fell over while rollerskating across the stage during his performance, and said he 

Many viewers also criticized the ‘disappointing’ sound quality for Usher’s show.  

One X user appeared to have mistaken Will.i.am for Kanye West too and wrote: ‘Why did I think Kanye and North West were in the Super Bowl halftime show?’

‘Thought North West was performing,’ another social media user agreed. 

Another X user joked that they thought the Kardashians outdid themselves and got North in the show. 

Other fans poked fun of those who tweeted about mistaking the 26-year-old artist and the 10-year-old child. 

‘Someone thought H.E.R. was North West,’ one X user wrote alongside crying emojis. 

Some social media users joked at the situation and shared sarcastic tweets: ‘I can’t believe Usher brought out North West’.

‘North played [the f***] outta that guitar,’ another X user tweeted.

One social media user made a meme out of Travis Kelce’s sideline meltdown photo and wrote: ‘THE SOUND ON THE USHER CONCERT IS OFF.’ 

Another shared their criticism with a tweet reading: ‘How terrible is the sound quality of this halftime show?’ 

‘Is it just me or the sound for the vocals in this halftime show sucks,’ another wrote.

‘The sound guy trying to fix Usher’s mic,’ one X user tweeted alongside a photo of a man standing in front of an overwhelming display of cords and buttons.

Another user said Usher appeared ‘winded’ and sounded as if he was ‘playing the game’ himself. 

Despite the issues, plenty of fans heaped on the praise for Usher singing live.

‘Usher opting to execute a set that focused squarely on a bygone era of showmanship is why he’s in a league of his own,’ an X user wrote. 

‘The mic was on. No track. A skate sequence. Fluid choreography. He took his time onstage and it was exquisite.’

Many fans complimented Usher’s electric and eventful performance. ‘Usher ripped his shirt off, roller skated on stage, killed it with iconic songs, and just doing the MOST AND loved every moment of it. What a performance!’
