Ronan Keating was left in floods of tears as he said an emotional goodbye to his daughter Missy after visiting her in the US this week where she is currently living and working. 

The singer, 46, took to his social media to share the heartbreaking moment he had to bid her farewell in New York after travelling there to see her on her birthday.

Ronan shares Missy, 23, with his ex-wife Yvonne Connolly – as well as Love Island star Jack, 24, and Ali, 18.

He also shares children Cooper, six, and Coco Knox, three, with his current wife Storm who he married in 2015.

Taking Instagram, Ronan shared a snap of Storm and Missy hugging as he said: ‘Always hard to say goodbye. I’m not crying you’re crying. Well Most importantly Happy Birthday my brilliant daughter. Love you so much moo.

‘You are such a bloody brave strong woman. Storm and I loved seeing you stand on your own two feet In the city that never sleeps. 

‘Storm Jack Ali Coops Coco and I are all so proud of you. Enjoy your Day. Love you always Dad X.’ 

Missy replied under the post saying: ‘Love you so much [heart emoji] thank you dad. Best couple days with you both. Missing you already.’

In 2022, Ronan admitted his ‘heart hurt’ after he had to say goodbye to Missy while she was living in Australia. 

She moved there in the hopes of pursuing a career in acting. Missy had previously worked as a model. 

Posting a snap of his daughter hugging his youngest kids, Cooper and Coco, an emotional Ronan wrote on Instagram: ‘Off she goes. Australia watch out @missyykeating is on her way. 

‘Heart hurts so much. We are all going to miss her like crazy.’ 

It comes after last week Ronan shared some adorable family snaps while wishing his granddaughter Maya Ann a happy first birthday.

He  became a grandfather for the first time last year when his son Jack welcomed a baby daughter.

Sharing the first snap of his newborn baby daughter in March last year, just eight months after he appeared on Love Island, Jack wrote: ‘Welcome to the world my little Princess.’

Former Boyzone star Ronan took to Instagram to share a snap of Jack holding Maya Ann in his arms while out with Ronan and his wife Storm, 42. 

Ronan captioned his post: ‘Happy birthday to our little nugget. One year passed so quickly. You are a bright ray of sunshine and you bring so much joy to us all. From Nana and pops.’

He shared another picture of himself with his loved ones, with Maya Ann seen laying in her bed at the hospital shortly after she was born. 

Ronan wrote: ‘One year today. Crazy how time has passed so quickly. 2023 saw the heaviest of losses but along came our little angel. Sending all our love today Jacko and Maya. From Nana and Papa x.’

While Ronan was overjoyed to have become a grandfather last hear, he faced heartache following the death of his brother Ciaran.

Ciaran Keating tragically died in a horror car crash in July last year as he travelled with his wife Ann Marie to watch their son Ruairí play football in Ballymiles. He was aged 57.

Ronan broke his silence after becoming a grandad for the first time during an appearance on The One Show in March last year.

He made reference to his family’s new addition while insisting he wanted to be called ‘pops’.

When his co-host Jermaine Jenas said: ‘You’re a grandad now,’ Ronan replied: ‘Yes I am. My son had a gorgeous baby.’

Jermaine then said: ‘You prefer to be called something else?’ with Ronan responding: ‘Pops.’
