DUBBED the “budget-friendly St Tropez”, Tunisia makes for a great spring holiday – and it’s only three hours away from the UK.

The holiday destination is known for its sandy beaches, clear waters, unique cuisine, and being easy on the wallet.

So, we’ve rounded up the best holiday packages to Tunisia this April, and they start from just £299 all-inclusive.

Tunisia is the northernmost country in Africa and boasts a Mediterranean climate. In April, temperatures should reach highs of 26 during the day and not dip below the mid-teens at night.

Seeing how hot the days are already starting to get, summers in Tunisia can hit highs of up to 40C – so visiting in spring might be the best idea.

The country has beautiful sandy beaches and crystal-clear waters; some of the most popular are Monastir and Hammamet.

Thanks to its nightlife, Hammamet is a popular Tunisian beach resort, so it’s perfect if you’re after a partying holiday with your mates.

Monastir is renowned for its endless miles of sandy beaches, ideal for a more relaxed holiday filled with sunbathing and chilling by the beach.

The best time to visit Tunisia for a beach holiday is between April and September.

You’ll find plenty of activities in Tunisia, including camel trekking, hot air balloon rides, sandboarding, snorkelling, and diving.

You could also explore Tunisia’s rich culture by visiting the ancient city of Carthage, the theatre of El Djem, and the Bardo Museum.

However, if your main focus is sightseeing, you might want to push your holiday towards the end of the summer, so you won’t be walking around under the scorching sun.

Another bargain we’ve found is seven nights all-inclusive at Marhaba Beach in Sousse, available from £360pp.

May gets a bit more expensive as it becomes mid-season, but we still found seven-night stays at TUI SUNEO Royal Kenz in Port El Kantaoui, Tunisia, from £464pp all-inclusive.
