The retailer is selling a stainless steel spatula for 10p down from £3 – a whopping 96% discount.

The shopper posted their find on the Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK Facebook group with the caption “my bargain of the day”.

The post has notched up over 100 likes and comments from fellow bargain hunters joking about the cheap find.

One said “this is EGGcellent” while another added “flipping amazing”.

A third quipped “Cracking stuff! You didn’t have to shell out that much!”

Meanwhile, a fourth said: “Eggcelent price, sorry had to be done.”

Bear in mind, if you’re looking to snap up the spatula for 10p, you might not find it in your local branch so cheap.

Retailers tend to reduce items like this to clear stock in specific branches.

The spatula isn’t in stock on B&M’s website so it might be worth calling your local branch ahead to see if they’ve got any for 10p.

Always remember to shop around when buying something like this as well as you might find it cheaper elsewhere.

How to find the best bargains at the supermarket

You can use websites like Price Spy and Trolley to compare prices on thousands of products across different retailers.

The Google Product tab is helpful for running a quick scan across the internet too.

That said, when we had a look online we couldn’t find any other retailers selling a similar stainless steel spatula this cheap.

Sainsbury’s has one for £3.50 while The Range is selling one for £2.

How to save money at B&M

Shoppers have saved hundreds of pounds a year by using B&M’s scanner app.

The scanner lets you see if an item’s price is cheaper than advertised on the shop floor label.

Products that are typically discounted are seasonal items and old stock that B&M is trying to shift.

The app is free to download off the B&M Stores mobile app via Google Play or the Apple App Store.

According to one ex-B&M manager, you’ll want to visit your local branch at 10am on a Wednesday too.

B&M scanner app

SAVVY shoppers are using an app to find better discounts in stores.

Here’s how you can join the B&M bargain hunt:

  • Download the B&M app for free on any smartphone with an App Store or Google Play.
  • Once you’ve installed it on your device, click on the option labelled “more” on the bottom, right-hand side of the app home page.
  • You’ll then find an option that says “barcode scanner”. Click on this and you’ll open a camera screen.
  • Use the camera to hover over the barcode of the product you wish to check.
  • If the price comes up as lower, take it to the cash desk and it will automatically scan at the lower price.
  • You don’t need to sign up to the B&M app to use the barcode scanner.

This is when staff slash items to as little as 10p to clear excess stock and make way for new products.

Remember you can find your nearest B&M branch by using the retailer’s store locator tool on its website.

Keep an eye out for red sticker products as well, according to deals expert Tom Church.

These are put on special buy products that have also been reduced in price.
