Commentator says darts giant is 'so tall he makes opponent look like a mole'

DARTS star Jimmy van Schie made his opponent “look like a mole” as he towered over him during their MODUS Super Series clash.

Dutchman Van Schie, 30, claimed a 4-3 victory in series seven, week six, Group A.

But it was the height disparity between himself and competitor Damian Mol that garnered much of the attention.

And the darts commentator was quick to make reference to the players’ hugely differing sizes as he joked Mol was looking as small as his animal namesake.

He said: “Talking about big, they don’t get much bigger and much taller than Jimmy Van Schie do they.

“Making Damian Mol, well, look like a mole. Big size difference.”

The commentator was not the only one to comment on Van Schie’s height.

One social media user said: “I cannot get over the fact that Jimmy’s eyes are looking at the top of the board.. big lad!”

It is not known how tall Van Schie officially is, but he loomed over Mol in a hilarious manner.

The MODUS Super Series began in 2022 after it succeeded the Online Darts Live League which had launched in 2021.

The weekly events take place in Portsmouth.

It is into its seventh series, with £20,000 up for grabs for the overall winner.

Van Schie sits top of the six-player Group A and is on course to qualify for finals night on Saturday.
