With so much on the line, tensions were high as both sides looked for a breakthrough.

But the visitors were left stunned when City star Silva attempted to eavesdrop on a tactical conversation.

Fans were quick to spot the trick, with one person even filming it.

They posted the video on X with a caption that read: “Bernardo listening to Arteta’s tactics 😂.”

Another person wrote: “Bernardo is not serious 😂.”

A third commented: “Instead of getting tactics from his manager on how to take a shot on target he was busy eavesdropping 😂.”

While a fourth quipped: “That didn’t help them win the game though.”

Some fans also revealed what they thought Arteta was saying, with one joking: “Bernardo wanted to know how long they were planning to defend and not play.”

Another quipped: “He wanted to know if he wants to add more busses to the goal post.”

The match ended in a goalless draw, with both sides taking a point.

In his post-match press conference, Mikel Arteta said: “We are improving, we are competing better and we are understanding how to compete in these games.

“There’s another step to make to win championships and that’s that you have to win. Today we were able to draw and we have to improve a lot still to win.

“The downside is that we had some situations to score. We didn’t make the most out of it. I think the next step is to have the composure with the ball.”
