Friends said her family had to agree a payout as Brown had a financial stake in her house.

He will also get a final salary pension worth £30,000 per year from British Airways.

The cash has been safely deposited for him to access when he is eventually freed and there is no recourse to stop him pocketing the windfall – despite his conviction.

Brown was paid more than £150,000-a-year at BA – and on the lucrative final salary pension scheme.

The brute joined the airline in 1987 and went on to qualify as a pilot, and then a captain, in 2004.

BA was contributing into his pension until 2011, when he was given a 26 year sentence for manslaughter.

Millions of viewers have been captivated by the case for the first time following ITV’s ‘The British Airways Killer’, released last month.

Brown killed Joanna, 46, with a hammer in her home in Windsor, Berks, in 2010.

He had been due for early release last year but Justice Secretary Alex Chalk blocked the move.

Brown, convicted of manslaughter, now cannot be freed before the end of his 26-year sentence in 2036 — when he will be 72 — unless the Parole Board decides he is safe.
