Although he appeared as normal on Thursday’s edition, viewers tuned in as Naga Munchetty, 49, appeared to be missing.

She was replaced by Nina Warhurst, 43, who filled in for the star as she took some much needed down time.

The presenter beamed as she sat on the iconic BBC Breakfast sofa wearing a short-sleeved teal gown.

She also stood by one of the extensive graphic screens in the studio as she read out the news headlines of the day.
