Schools close in the UK as an Arctic blast hits Britain, with more snow and ice on the way today.
Due to the treacherous winter conditions, some schools have decided to close their doors for today children went to work remotely as the cold persisted.
A number of national severe snow and ice warnings were issued, with the Met Office saying further warnings, or updates to the current warnings, are “highly likely”.
The UK Health and Security Agency has issued a Level 3 Cold Weather Alert for the whole of England.
