It’s been four years since singer Beyonce’s last headlining show, and her performance in Dubai was a suitably grand return.

The star-studded show started as a theatrical production on Saturday night. Violinists crowned in metallic gold headpieces and voluminous red skirts took the stage first, and Beyonce’s dancers and more musicians followed in matching attire, standing still with their hands folded in front of the Egyptian-themed backdrop, Variety reports.

As the guests of the hour-long, invitation-only performance began to scream with excitement, Beyonce stood on a platform in a yellow corset dress, topped with a feathered skirt and a feathered back piece.

Fireworks exploded over the venue as the iconic artist opened the show singing Etta James ‘At Last’ into a gold microphone. She then announced to the crowd that her mother, Tina Knowles, father, Mathew Knowles, her “beautiful husband” Jay-Z and their children, Blue Ivy, Rumi and Sir Carter were all in the audience to support her.

While Jay-Z remained in his chair as Beyonce performed “Crazy in Love” (she started it with the “50 Shades of Gray” version and wrapped it with the original), Blue Ivy took the stage for a collab.

The 11-year-old continued to prove she’s a star in the making as she strolled out in a sequined red jumpsuit and billowing skirt, flipping her braids as she walked over to her mother’s side.

When Beyonce started performing “Brown Skin Girl,” Blue Ivy stood next to her and danced, capturing the choreography the dancers next to her were doing. When the song ended, she hugged her mother, walked up the stairs and posed, even blowing kisses to the audience like a pro before leaving the stage.

Beyonce had three different wardrobe changes during the evening. This was followed by a red corseted jumpsuit topped with a skirt and then a sheer, crystal-embellished mini dress to close out the show.

Each outfit ushered in a new mood for the show, which relied heavily on ballads = such as ‘Freedom’, ‘Spirit’ and ‘Be Alive’. But Beyonce brightened up the set with “Beautiful Liar” and “Naughty Girl,” for which she appeared in her final look of the evening.

Oddly enough, Beyonce did not play songs from her 2022 Grammy-nominated ‘Renaissance’ album.

To wrap up the show, the superstar singer and her dancers squirmed in the water as she sang “Naughty Girl.” Next, Beyonce stepped onto a raised plank in the middle of a body of water to wrap up the show. She was lifted into the air and a spectacular fireworks display followed.

Chloe and Halle Bailey, Nia Long, Kendall Jenner, and Rebel Wilson were among the stars in attendance. Guests were told to come in formal attire and wear autograph pins to gain access to the event.

All attendees also had to adhere to a strict no-phone policy. No one was allowed to take photos or videos of the concert, but they were allowed to do so at the after party, where Swedish House Mafia performed and the guests continued to indulge in the free Moet champagne.

Beyonce’s performance was part of Atlantis Resort’s ‘Grand Reveal’ weekend celebration of Dubai’s new Atlantis The Royal, which opens next month. It also included dinners prepared by world-renowned chefs, including Jose Andres, Nobu Matsuhisa, Jose Andres, and Mich Turner.
