The ultimate betrayal. Some celebrities have endured their fair share of heartbreak over the years, including many publicized cheating scandals.
Tristan Thompson made headlines twice for cheating Khloe Kardashian — who he started dating in 2016 — over the course of their relationship. The Cleveland Cavaliers player was spotted in April 2018 hugging two women while Kardashian was pregnant with their daughter True. Later that month, Us weekly confirmed that Thompson had been unfaithful to the reality star since November 2017 with at least five different women.
However, Thompson was present at their daughter’s birth, which was documented on Season 15 of Keeping up with the Kardashians.
Us broke the news in May 2018 that the duo were “fully back together” despite Thompson’s infidelity. The revenge body host defended her decision to reunite with the NBA star in November 2018.
“His mistake was obviously humiliating and heartbreaking but I truly believe I am strong enough to get through it all,” she tweeted at the time. “I choose to find a life lesson in every situation, even the nasty ones. Tristan has grown out of this, but most importantly he is a wonderful father to our sweet baby True.”
The athlete and Kardashian broke up for the second time when he was spotted kissing Kylie Jennerthen BFF, Jordan Woodsat a party in February 2019.
Another cheating scandal that made waves Kristen Stewartwhose romance with Robert PattinsonThe romance hit a roadblock in July 2012 when photos surfaced of the actress and director Rupert Sanders grabbing the PDA. The Seberg star issued a public apology to Pattinson, whom she began dating in 2009.
“I am deeply sorry for the pain and embarrassment I have caused my loved ones and everyone affected by this,” she said at the time. “This momentary indiscretion has jeopardized the most important thing in my life, the person I love and respect the most, Rob. I love him, I love him, I’m so sorry.”
Sanders, for his part, publicly apologized to his then-wife, Freedom Rossand their two children, Skyla and Tennyson.
“I am utterly distraught at the pain I have caused my family,” the English director said in a statement Us. “My beautiful wife and heavenly children are all I have in this world. I love them with all my heart. I pray that we can get through this together.”
Ross filed for divorce from Sanders in January 2013. Stewart and Pattinson reconciled, but the Dusk costars eventually called it quits for good the same month.
