Brian and Bobbie Houston sell their designer clothes after leaving Hillsong

Ex-Hillsong pastors Brian and Bobbie Houston sell a swag of possessions to raise money after Ms. Houston revealed a bloody facial wound and described their lives as a war zone.

Ms. Houston this week uploaded dozens of images of luxury items — including 11 of Brian’s shirts plus his Armani, Ermenegildo Zegna and Versace suits, as well as shoes, housewares and furniture — to closetbabycloset on Instagram.

“We have donated and donated things all our lives and will continue to do so…but right now we are selling to move things properly and efficiently,” Ms. Houston wrote online.

The Pentecostal couple, who were evicted last year from the megachurch they founded in 1983, are also reluctantly selling their home in Sydney’s Hills District.

“I could pretend I’m a boxer,” Bobbie Houston said of her eye injury that she says happened when she “fell down my stairs” this week

The four-bedroom, 3,647-square-foot gated estate was listed for $4.5 million and includes a 26-square-foot dressing room for Mrs. Houston’s outfits.

Mr. Houston told nine newspapers they sold to reduce debt and simplify their lives.

On Monday, Ms. Houston posted a selfie with her right eyebrow covered in blood-soaked bandages.

“Took a little dip yesterday,” she wrote online.

“I could almost pretend to be a professional boxer with a boxer’s eyebrow.

Ms Houston said she avoided damage to her head or face, but suffered bruises and a ‘minor cut’.

‘Never a dull moment. It feels like we’ve been in the war landscape this year – mind, soul and body – and yet we persevere.”

Mr Houston resigned as Hillsong’s senior global pastor last March after he was found to have violated the church’s “moral code” with two women.

The Church said it had investigated two complaints against him in the past 10 years.

One complaint was filed after a church employee claimed to have received “inappropriate” text messages.

The Church investigation found that he was “under the influence of sleeping tablets, on which he had become dependent” when he sent the text messages.

One of the items Ms. Houston had for sale is this Italian Positano dish, which sold for $200 and which she said she “carried around the world”

The second complaint related to Mr Houston allegedly knocking on a female guest’s hotel door after the 2019 Hillsong conference entered the room.

“Pastor Brian became disoriented … after taking anti-anxiety medication above the prescribed dose, mixed with alcohol,” the church said at the time.

The exact nature of the woman’s complaint has not been made public and Mr Houston has denied that any sexual activity took place.

Mr. Houston has also been charged by police with concealment of child sexual abuse by his father, Frank.

He pleaded not guilty in Sydney’s Downing Center Local Court in an ongoing trial.

Frank Houston abused nine boys in Australia and New Zealand between 1965 and 1977 when he led the Assemblies of God church.

A month after Brian Houston left Hillsong, Bobbie was fired by text message.

“I don’t even have words to express how cold and callous this has all become,” she said at the time.

The pair founded Hillsong megachurch in 1983 and have been top figures for nearly 40 years.

Hillsong’s hiatus allowed the Houstons to go on a speaking tour of the United States, where he talked about inheriting “baggage” from his father.

“Inheritance on Earth may sound like a good idea… My parents, financially speaking, what I inherited was small, but the reality is it also came through my father with baggage,” he said in a sermon at James River Church in South West. Missouri.

“Because when I was 45 years old… I discovered that my father was a pedophile many years before, in the ’60s and ’70s.”
