Bus plunges into canyon in northern Peru, killing 25

LIMA, Peru — A passenger bus fell into a ravine in northern Peru on Saturday, killing at least 25 people and injuring others, authorities said.

The Q’orianka Tours bus had left the capital Lima for the Tumbes region near the border with Ecuador in Peru’s coastal desert.

The early morning accident left the bus on its side with bodies on the ground around it. The injured have been taken to nearby hospitals.
