Cynthia Nixon Updates Sarah Jessica Parker After Stepfather’s Death

After his death, the Parting alum took to social media to write a touching tribute to her beloved.

“Goddamn it. REST IN PEACE. Strong as a bull. Until the end,” Sarah Jessica wrote on Instagram on September 30. “At home and among all those who loved you dearly, you will always be missed. We will take good care of Mom whom you have worshiped for 54 years.”

Forste was a big presence in the HBO star’s life from the age of three. Over the years, the Ohio native has spoken vocally about her difficult childhood.

“We were on welfare,” Sarah Jessica told the… New York Times in 2000. “I remember being poor. There was no great way to hide it. Sometimes we had no electricity. Sometimes we didn’t have Christmas, or sometimes we didn’t have birthdays, or the bill collectors came, or the phone company called and said, ‘We’ll turn off your phones.’”

Despite their hardships, square pins alum and her seven siblings grew up in a home full of love—something she and Broderick, 60, cared for in their own home.

“I thought a lot about my children and their romantic life. Matthew and I would go out of our way to be decent and civilized and hospitable to someone we don’t think deserves or is worthy of our children,” Sarah Jessica said.
