Dolores Explains ‘Miscommunication’ With Jennifer At ‘RHONJ’ Premiere

It wasn’t long before the drama kicked in on season 13 of The Real Housewives of New Jerseybut the most intense moment in the premiere did not materialize Teresa Guidice And Melissa Gorga. Dolores Catania And Jennifer Aydin got into a screaming match at the end of Tuesday, February 7’s episode.

“I really wasn’t looking for that,” Dolores, 52, told me exclusively Us weekly about not approaching Jennifer, 45, at the season’s second casting event. “It had been so long since we were in New York [at the season 12 reunion] I thought maybe when I saw her at the roller skating party that we would at least say hi, but she kept running away from me. I didn’t expect to speak to her next time [event], but I also didn’t want to leave them out, so it just wasn’t the time or place to talk to anyone about what’s going on. I’m not going to talk to 50 people before I talk to you. That’s just not how I am. I don’t even respond well to that. So that’s where a lot of our miscommunication came from.”

Things escalated when Dolores overheard Jennifer talking about her to Melissa, 43, at a party that featured Dolores’ boyfriend Paul “Paulie” Connell‘s first event on the show. Though she disagreed on whether Dolores was a “good friend” of Jennifer’s at the time Margaret Josephs brought up Bill’s past fling on camera during Season 12, Jennifer stated that her castmate “wasn’t fucking nice.”

“She’s never been my girlfriend. She’s fake, she’s two-faced,” she told their costars at the premiere.

Dolores told of how she remained calm during the confrontation Us“When you’re in a good place like I happen to be, bringing my cute boyfriend and he’s so excited and everyone is having a good time, if there was ever a time for that to happen, it was because when you’re you’re really happy, you don’t get so angry about things.

She added that she tunes in “when someone doesn’t allow it [her] speak’, comparing itself with Snoopy in the Peanuts cartoon.

“It’s like, ‘Wa, wa, wa,’ when the teacher talks, that’s what I hear. I can’t explain it any other way,” she said. “I just tunnel out. Sometimes I get aggressive or angry, but it wasn’t the time I wanted to do that. I mean, here comes my Paul and everyone hugs him, and I love my friends. Really and truly. … I’ve been more upset about not getting along with Jennifer than I even care to admit.

Dolores said she felt “bad” because she felt like she was a “good friend” to Jennifer.

“It’s okay to disagree on that. It’s really okay. But I thought we talked about it and moved on,” she said. “And then I have a problem if it isn’t.”

When asked if the two women will make amends this season, Dolores played coy and telling Us: “Stay tuned.”
