An escaped prisoner has taunted police by saying he will turn himself in to claim the £500 reward offered for his capture.

Sussex Police offered £500 for information leading to the arrest of Curtis Harrison, 32, who was jailed for breaching a restraining order.

The 32-year-old, who has links to Uckfield, Crawley and Tunbridge Wells, was in breach of the terms of his release.

Sussex Police posted a wanted poster on their official Facebook page featuring Harrison’s police photo and details on how to contact police with information leading to his arrest.

An account using Harrison’s name and photos posted a public comment below the post, writing: “I’ll be happy to collect £500.”

Another comment from him read: ‘Pay me the £500 I will hand myself in,’ reports ITV.

The broadcaster also reported that another user on the platform responded directly to the account, saying, “Curtis Harrison, I’ll make a deal with you.” Tell me where you are and I’ll give you the £500, I promise.’

Curtis is said to have replied, “No, you have pictures of cats.”

Some comments have since been removed from the post and it is not yet clear whether the wanted man is still at large.

Sussex Police have been approached for comment.

Harrison has been described by police as white, about six feet tall, and of average build. He has dark hair and facial hair.
