European Production Alliance Calls for Writer Workshop Submissions

European collaborating producer group The Creatives, an alliance of boutique film companies founded last year and backed by global production giant Fremantle, has made an appeal to writers interested in a new way of doing business.

The Creatives, including the British group Good Chaos (Triangle of sadness), the French Haut Et Court (The lobster) and the German razor film (Quo Vadis, Aida?) and Komplizen film (Spencer) as well as the Dutch group Lemming Film, the Belgian Versus Production, the Norwegian Maipo Film, the Israeli group Spiro, the French Unité and the American production company Masha, will accept submissions from European screenwriters for their first-ever “innovative, experimental, interdisciplinary brainstorming and pre writing workshops” to be held across Europe in 2023.

The series, called The Creative Connection, is supported by funding from the European Commission, and successful candidates will participate in three workshops, in January, March and August 2023, in which they will be paired with experts from various fields of research, including artificial intelligence, environmental studies , genetics and philosophy, in an effort to broaden their approach to story conception and development.

Applicants must have at least one credit as the lead writer of at least one feature film that has been distributed internationally or one TV series that has aired internationally. Ideally, they have experience working on international co-productions.

Interested candidates can apply at www.thecreativeconnection.net.
