A council contractor has been labeled lazy after drawing another white stripe on the road over the top of dead leaves.

The City of Gold Coast worker’s questionable efforts came under scrutiny after a member of the community spotted his ‘sloppy’ work on Hardys Rd in Mudgeeraba, in the city’s southwest.

The image shared on a local Facebook page showed several feet of the painted line going over piles of dead leaves.

While some pointed out that it was not the worker’s job to clean the street and that the blame should be placed on the council, the majority felt it was not difficult to simply blow the leaves away before starting the job started.

“Ahh, drop the responsibility, why don’t you put a pressure washer 2 feet in front of the paint sprayer,” one person commented.

Other social media users called the act “shameful” and “the height of laziness.”

The Gold Coast city has over 2,000 miles of roads.

Last year alone, the city spent $62 million on 141 road renovation and maintenance projects.

It is clear that the line has since been revamped.
