Halle Berry’s go-to keto chef reveals the carb-free recipes that helped her lose 80 pounds

A keto chef who lost 80 pounds on the low-carb, high-fat diet shares how she makes everything from bread to donuts that are free of carbs and sugar.

Maria Emmerich, founder of Maria Mind Body Health, has written more than a dozen keto-friendly cookbooks that have been read by the likes of Halle Berry, Valerie Bertinelli, and Al Roker.

The wellness expert has a total of 316,300 followers on Instagram and TikTok, where she shares her low-carb recipes, proving that people can still enjoy versions of their favorite breads and desserts while following a ketogenic diet.

Emmerich, 42, struggled with her weight growing up, and she was diagnosed with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) when she was 16.

The hormonal disorder causes enlarged ovaries with small cysts on the outer edges, and symptoms include irregular periods, weight gain, hair loss, oily skin and acne.

She began restricting her carbs and followed what is now known as the ketogenic diet, which helped her lose 80 pounds.

Emmerich’s experience inspired her to train in nutritional and exercise physiology before starting her coaching business. More than two decades ago, she wrote her first book about following a keto lifestyle.

The best part is that you only need two ingredients.

She made the dough with six egg whites, a pinch of salt, four tablespoons of allulose — a low-calorie sugar found naturally in plant foods — two tablespoons of gelatin, and one-third of a cup of egg white protein.
