Kanye West is under investigation for alleged battery

Kanye West is investigated after a confrontation with a woman who was filming him.

A spokesman for the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that E! News on Friday, January 27 that the rapper, 45, is under investigation for battery charges. They received a call on Friday about an altercation between the ‘Power’ artist and a woman who was filming him. Authorities were provided with video footage showing West engaged in a dispute with the woman and seemingly grabbing her phone from her hand.

West left the area before police arrived. A report has been filed, which will lead to further investigation, said the spokesperson.

In a video of the incident obtained by TMZ, the founder of Yeezy was seen approaching a woman in her car as they stood at a stoplight. He had gotten out of his car to talk to her.

“You’re not going to run at me like that,” West said.

The woman, who had a small dog on her lap, replied, “I wasn’t running.”

She held up her phone and took a close-up of West as he demanded, “Stop your cameras.”

The woman said, “I know, but Kanye, you’re a celebrity.” Before she finished her sentence, West had snatched the phone from her hands and tossed it onto the road.

The incident took place in Thousand Oaks, California, close to the facility where Kanye’s oldest daughter, North, 9, was supposed to play a basketball game. Kim Kardashian attended with their son Saint, 6, as well Tristan Thompson.

TMZ reports that West returned to his SUV, where his ‘wife’ Bianca Censoriwas waiting.

The artist and the Yeezy designer held what appeared to be a wedding ceremony in early January, a source said exclusively Us weekly. “Kanye and Bianca had a small wedding ceremony, friends don’t know if it’s legal, but for them it’s very real,” the insider shared earlier this month.

He shares North, Saint, Chicago, 5, and Psalm, 3, with Kardashian, 42. The Skims founder filed for divorce in February 2021 after nearly seven years of marriage. A judge declared them single in March 2022 before their split was fully finalized in December.

Co-parenting with West – amid his tirades against Kardashian’s ex, Peter Davidsonand his anti-Semitic diatribes — was hard for the reality star.

“I certainly protected him, and I still will in the eyes of my children. For my children. So at my house, my kids don’t know anything about what’s going on [in] the outside world,” Kardashian explained on a December episode of the “Angie Martinez IRL” podcast.

“I am holding on by a thread. I know I’m so close it won’t happen, but while it still is, I’ll protect that to the ends of the earth as long as I can. My children don’t know anything,’ she continued. “So at school, some of my best friends are the teachers, so I know what happens at recess and at lunch. I hear what is being discussed.”

The reality star recalled the efforts she continues to make to protect their four children from seeing West’s controversial social media comments.

“I am holding on by a thread. I know I’m so close it won’t happen, but while it still is, I’ll protect that to the ends of the earth as long as I can. My kids don’t know anything,” Kardashian explained. “So at school, some of my best friends are the teachers, so I know what happens at recess and at lunch. I hear what is being discussed.”

Kardashian added, “Coparenting is really f-king hard. I had the best dad and the best experiences, and that’s all I want for my kids… If they don’t know the things that are being said, why should I ever give that energy? That’s real, heavy, adults they’re not ready to deal with. If so, we’ll have those conversations. One day my kids will thank me for not putting her down and scolded their father. I could.”
