Katie Maloney explains why her and Raquel’s friendship isn’t meant to be

Not ready to make nice. Katie Maloney opened up about where she stands Vanderpump Rules Co-star Rachel Leviss after their feud on social media last year.

“Nowhere. I’m far away,” the podcast host told “You’re Gonna Love Me,” 36, exclusively Us weekly on Tuesday, February 7 at SUR Restaurant & Lounge in West Hollywood. “That’s where I stand.”

The Bravo personality added that she had “tried” to make it work with her colleague, 28, but the relationship didn’t click. “Some things just aren’t meant to be,” Katie said Us. “And our friendship is probably one of them.”

The tension between the duo started last year after Katie broke up in March 2022 Tom Schwartz after more than a decade together. Five months later, Us confirmed that TomTom’s co-owner, 40, and Raquel got together nicely Scheana Shay‘s marriage to Brock Davies. “Apparently there was some heavy drinking involved,” an insider revealed exclusively in August 2022. “They kissed.”

Raquel, who is divorced from fiancée James Kennedy in January 2022, told later Us that she and Katie were not “on the best terms” after the incident. “I can’t speak for her, but I just keep my distance and let her express her feelings,” the former SURver explained at BravoCon in October 2022, adding that she is “good friends” with Tom. “I would like to [our breakups] kind of brought us together as friends and we were able to support each other. I didn’t expect that friendship to blossom, but I’m glad it did.”

Weeks after the fan festival, Katie made headlines when she called Raquel a “fangirl” for wearing a TomTom hoodie. “She’s a fangirl,” the Utah native wrote via Instagram at the time. “Started as a fan of the show and now a fan of the toms.”

Raquel, for her part, brushed off her costar’s comment, writing, “I admit… I’m a fan of the Toms. I am definitely a fan of the restaurant… in my opinion the best atmosphere, food and drink in WeHo. But I’m also a fan of Tom Schwartz and Tom Sandoval!! ? Here to support their business endeavors ?.”

Days later, 39-year-old Sandoval mocked the drama by dressing up as Raquel for Halloween, wearing a TomTom sweatshirt and blonde wig. “Guys, look who I bumped into,” Raquel joked in an Instagram video in October 2022. “It’s Raquel from BravoCon Day 3! Oh my God. Wow, Raquel, I can’t believe you’d be wearing that sweatshirt.

Sandoval also shared a photo of the look via his own Instagram account, adding the caption, “Raquel needs to stop showing up at TomTom, it’s embarrassing.”

While the drama may have soured Katie’s friendship with Raquel, it didn’t ruin her relationship with Schwartz. “I have a history with Tom and we have dogs so I wanted to try and fix a little more and keep working [everything]’ she explained Us. “We’re trying to figure out where the sweet spot is in our friendship so we can stay in each other’s lives, stay friends, but it doesn’t cause too much division and stuff.”
