Katy Perry Praises Miranda Kerr as ‘The Heart of Our Family’
Modern friendship! Following Miranda Kerrhas been split from Orlando Bloomthe model and her ex’s new fiancée, Katy Perrycreated a unique friendship over the years.
Bloom and Kerr were originally married from 2010 to 2013. The couple shares son Flynn, who was born in January 2011. The businesswoman later tied the knot with Evan Spiegel in 2017. The couple welcomed their sons Hart and Myles in 2018 and 2019 respectively.
The actor, for his part, was first linked to the singer after they met in 2016 at a Golden Globes after-party.
“She’s very surprising,” said the Carnival row star later told The Sunday times about his thoughts on their first meeting. “She’s witty and smart and intelligent. She is charismatic, but also direct, and this dynamic intrigued me.”
The couple briefly split in 2017 and reconciled the following year. Bloom proposed to Perry in 2019 and they welcomed their daughter Daisy in August 2020.
Prior to the arrival of her daughter, the american idol Judge shared how taking care of Flynn helped her prepare for motherhood.
“We have to be out the door at 7:30 to be there at 8:15 and we can’t be late,” the “Hot n Cold” singer said on The Ellen DeGeneres Show in September 2019. “I used to wake up only at 11am and now I’m in bed like a normal person at 10pm, just like I’m falling asleep. I think this definitely matured me. I think this is growing up. That’s why I still dress like a child, to fight!”
Perry and Kerr bonded when the pair participated in family events together, and the Australian even shared how Flynn brought everyone closer together.
“When it comes to special occasions when we need to be together, we work it out to compromise [about] what’s best for our whole family,” Kerr shared The Drew Barrymore Show in November 2020. “We’re really always thinking about what’s best for Flynn, and I think that’s the most important thing.”
The two moms even took to social media to discuss with each other how their lives have changed since having kids.
“I feel like I’ve been given the opportunity to climb every mountain, especially career-wise, and see those views. For a lot of them I was very grateful but there was no feeling like when I had my daughter,” the artist noted during an Instagram Live with Kerr in April 2021. “I mean that was all the love I was always looking for to, like, bam, wholeness!
