Khushbu Sundar says she is not ‘ashamed’ of her sexual abuse revelations against her father: “I need to get the message out there…”
Actor-politician Khushbu Sundar has been making headlines ever since she made explosive revelations about being a victim of sexual assault. While her revelations have left her fans in shock, Khushbu recently opened up about why she had to tell her story. The BJP member also added that she wants to be an example of staying strong and that women should speak up about the things they have been through.
Khushbu is one of the well-known actors in the South Indian film industry. She has worked in over 100 Tamil films in the 90s and 2000s. She was last seen inside Rajinikanth and Nayanthara star Annaatthe.
Khushbu Sundar recently opened up about her horrific childhood experiences. The actress-politician revealed that her father sexually assaulted her from eight to fifteen years old. Now, in a new interview, Sundar opened up about her revelations and why she chose to talk about them.
In an interview with ANI, Khushbu Sundar spoke about her statement saying that she did not make a “surprising statement” but was just being honest. The BJP member added, “I am not ashamed of what I have said because this happened to me and I think the perpetrator should be ashamed of what he has done.”
Sundar further added that she needs to send a message to others saying, “I think I need to get the message across that you have to be strong and take control of yourself and don’t let anything get you down or think that this is the end. off the road.” She went on to say that it took her years to speak out, adding: “I think women need to talk about it and tell them this happened to me and I will continue my journey, whatever comes next also happens.”
