MAFS 2023: Couple swapping scandal as groom travels to Perth for an affair

The new season of Married At First Sight was full of drama, but the biggest scandal actually happened after filming wrapped.

Sources tell Daily Mail Australia that shy groom Josh White recently had a secret rendezvous with Lyndall Grace after they met at a post-final party in December.

Josh, a Sydney advertising director who is “married” to sex-obsessed hairdresser Melissa Sheppard in the Nine series, then traveled to Perth from January 26-29 for a romantic weekend with accountant Lyndall.

Their affair will come as a shock to viewers, as Lyndall, who has cystic fibrosis, has been paired with Northern Territory carpenter Cam Woods in the experiment, and their wholesome romance has captured hearts across Australia.

However, it is clear that no infidelity took place because Lyndall and Cam broke up before the finale; similarly, Josh and Melissa stopped midway through filming.

“Josh and Lyndall dated in secret for weeks,” one cast member said.

They added that the couple kissed for the first time on Dec. 17 — the day after filming the reunion — when several MAFS contestants went on a night out at Sydney’s Ivy Pool.

“It started when he told her he really liked her and wanted to kiss her, and she said, ‘Well, then move on,'” the source said.

Josh and Lyndall are said to have hit it off and “couldn’t stop pashing” during their wild night in Ivy Pool with some of their castmates, the spy added.

‘After [the kiss]”They spent hours on the phone every night and really got to know each other that way,” they said.

Lyndall made no effort to hide their romance – which has since ended – telling a handful of co-stars about it at a MAFS meeting in Perth on New Year’s Eve.

The affair, which had been hidden for weeks, was only recently revealed to the entire cast in WhatsApp group chats for the brides and grooms.

Meanwhile, photos obtained by Daily Mail Australia show Josh looking happy and very much in love during his trip to Perth where he visited Lyndall and stayed at her house.

‘When [the] the sun is shining on you, you can feel it,” he captioned a selfie he shared on his now-deleted Instagram account.

“Your day is coming, your mind hurts / your head / you don’t forget her,” he wrote alongside another photo of himself in a cafe.

A source told Daily Mail Australia: ‘This is a real-life couple swap and it’s causing quite a stir.

Josh met her family and friends and stayed at her house. It looked pretty good for them.’

On January 29, Josh returned to Sydney, having cut short his trip to Perth for unknown reasons.

Josh and Lyndall kept their rendezvous a secret from Channel Nine and production company Endemol Shine Australia. It is clear that several cast members were not supportive of their relationship, which is now over.

‘A lot of [the MAFS] The crew was stunned that their relationship got so serious so quickly,” one bride said, adding that the affair had left “a sour taste” in some people’s mouths.

Melissa, Josh’s ex-wife, was apparently “the last to hear about it, and she wasn’t happy,” the insider added.

Daily Mail Australia has contacted Lyndall, Josh and Channel Nine for comment.
