Man suffers hilarious fake tan fail in Benidorm
A man suffered a ‘hilarious’ fake tanning mistake while on holiday in Benidorm with people ‘crying’ at the result.
Darren, from Middlesbrough, tried to give his skin a light glow before going on a date, but accidentally fell asleep after applying the lotion.
The panicked 48-year-old tried to wash his face but couldn’t remove it, leaving his skin a bizarre shade of ‘orange’.
Darren and boyfriend Graham regularly share their holiday antics online (@dazza_bigdogbenidorm), after previously going viral for saying it’s ‘cheaper’ to go to Benidorm than staying at home in the UK.
In one of the clips, which has been viewed more than 868,000 times on TikTok, Darren sits on his balcony while coloring his face.

He came up with the idea after seeing his neighbors tanning their legs before a big night out and was intrigued.
After talking to them, he decided to get in on the action. In the next video, boyfriend Graham reveals that Darren has fallen asleep and a third clip shows the newly awakened Brit laughing on his bed.
His date reportedly “blocked” him after he told her what happened.
“I couldn’t believe the color I was going to get, I tried to wash it off but I wasn’t having any fun at all,” he said.
“I asked the neighbor how to wash it off and they said it would come off after a shower, but it didn’t.

“Anyway, my date texted me asking if everything was okay before the date, so I told her what happened and she blocked me.
“A few days later it started to turn orange and even my beard changed color.”
Social media users have been left in awe at the incident, with some people comparing Darren to Madge from Benidorm, known for her extremely tanned skin.
Others said the couple is a “liability” and left them “crying.” One user said, “You two are a liability, I’d love to take a vacation with you.” [sic]

Added a second: ‘I’m crying’ while a third said: “Oh god, I had a bad sun day last week.”
A fourth wrote, “Can’t stop laughing,” while another added, “No, I just choked on my drink when I saw this.” [sic]
A fifth said, “Oh my god, it’s brilliantly so funny,” while a sixth, referring to the TV show Benidorm, wrote, “Madge.”
In an effort to help Darren with his failed fake tan, people were quick to offer advice on how to fade the tan.

He added: ‘My mate said there was no point in staying indoors and hiding, so we decided to go out.
“But because of some of my viral videos from Benidorm, I have a lot of people wanting their picture taken with me.
So to disguise myself I bought a wig and put on sunglasses, but I still get spotted.
“I just decided to leave it now because there is nothing I can do. It’s been an eventful week and I would never use that stuff [fake tan] again.’
