Marjorie Taylor Greene defends calling Biden a “liar.”

Rep. Majorie Taylor Greene said she was “kind of sorry” for calling Joe Biden a “liar” during his State of the Union speeches, adding that the president got “exactly what he deserved.”

Greene showed no remorse for her actions, despite being criticized on social media for disrupting the president’s annual speech.

“People are pissed off,” she told CNN on Wednesday. “He got exactly what he deserved. And I’m not sorry at all.’

She again accused Biden of lying about the economy and the border. Republicans were outraged Tuesday night when Biden in his remarks accused the GOP of wanting to “interrupt” Medicare and Social Security.

The president was referring to a plan by Republican Senator Rick Scott to automatically scrap laws if they are not renewed, which Democrats say would include Medicare and Social Security.

Speaker Kevin McCarthy had earlier Tuesday implored Republicans to behave during the president’s remarks.

During the speech, when Republicans began chanting “secure the border” at Biden, McCarthy shoved them away from his spot on the House slides.

But Greene said she didn’t think the speaker was upset about the disruptions.

“I don’t think Speaker McCarthy is angry with any of us for speaking our mind and not being willing to let the president lie. What am I supposed to do, stand up and give golf hits? No, thank you. I don’t clap for liars,” she said.

She’s not the only Republican to double down on their attacks on the president.

Scott, the Republican senator from Florida, is running a new ad in his state calling for Biden to resign.

House Speaker Kevin McCarthy accused Biden of making outrageous claims about the Republicans’ plans for these social spending programs as a “political ploy” to provoke a backlash from GOP lawmakers.

After Biden spent much of his State of the Union address on Tuesday night praising that he had rebuilt the economy and quelled inflation in the wake of the pandemic, he hit a sore spot when he claimed Republicans want to “hold the economy hostage.”

It’s because polls show that most Americans feel they’re in worse shape financially and the economy is worse off because of Biden’s policies.

President Joe Biden got the biggest reaction of the night when he said, “Some of my Republican friends want to hold the economy hostage…Instead of letting the rich pay their fair share, some Republicans want Medicare and Social Security gone.”

The president’s claims quickly sparked the biggest backlash of the night from Republicans who jeered, jeered, and shouted that he was “lying.”

Biden used Tuesday night’s State of the Union mostly to tout his economic performance, express his optimism for the future and urge Republicans to work with him.

It turned out to be an unusually chaotic night, however, as many GOP lawmakers loudly voiced their anger at some of Biden’s claims, particularly his administration’s handling of the fentanyl crisis and economics, with cries of “liar!” your fault’ and ‘secure the border’.

Biden tried to hit back, continuing to call for bipartisanship, but the message that will support his probable re-election announcement has been repeatedly attacked.

“Well, the president was trying to excite the members — and the members are passionate about it,” McCarthy told Fox and Friends Wednesday morning. “But all the president said was something he knew wasn’t true. I just spent an hour with him, I’ve said it so many times: social security and health care are off the table.’

“He’s trying to use that for a political gimmick,” the Speaker claimed. “But all we have to be is we have to be smart. He’s trying to play politics with the debt ceiling by not negotiating, by lying about our position. I want to be responsible, I want to be sensible, I want to sit down and solve this problem.”

Scott also said in his ad that Biden is lying about Republicans wanting to scrap these programs while avoiding his own responsibilities to them.

“Joe Biden just cut $280 billion from Medicare and we know about his 80,000 new IRS agents,” Scott said in his 30-second ad as he donned a NAVY hat. “But what you don’t know is that Joe Biden also cheated on his taxes and got away with it.”

Biden improperly used a loophole to dodge half a million dollars in taxes that should have gone to Medicare. Now that Biden has defrauded Medicare for $500,000, he wants to close the loophole and raise your taxes,” he added.

“I’m Rick Scott, Biden should resign,” the Republican senator concluded.

Scott posted the clip to Twitter on Tuesday with the caption, “Here’s my ad tomorrow to welcome Joe to FL – he’s a tax evader and should step down.”

He echoed the same message when speaking to the media after Tuesday night’s State of the Union address, claiming it is time for the president to step down.

During Biden’s remarks before a joint session of Congress, he targeted Republicans for the debt ceiling negotiations and their proposals for the economy. Many believed his comments were intended to provoke some kind of big backlash from Republicans, which he deserved.

“Some of my Republican friends want to hold the economy hostage, I get that, unless I agree with their economic plans,” the president said during his speech. “All you should know at home are the plans — instead of letting the wealthy pay their fair share, some Republicans want Medicare and Social Security gone.”

“I’m not saying it’s a majority,” he added as some lawmakers began to fret.

Republicans cried out, while others, such as Representative Lauren Boebert of Colorado, frowned and shook their heads in disapproval.

Rep. Ronny Jackson, once the White House physician, tweeted, “Tonight’s State of the Union was ALL LIES! EVERYTHING has gotten worse under Biden.”

“If he REALLY cared about the state of our country, he would resign IMMEDIATELY!!” said the Texas congressman.
