‘Molkki’ actress Kajal Chauhan said that she took inspiration from films like ‘Darlings’ and ‘Gangs of Wasseypur’ for her role of Gaura in the show ‘Meri Saas Bhoot Hai’.

She also talked about her preparations and her director’s guidance to play the character perfectly on screen.

Kajal, who is currently working in Meri Saas Bhoot Hai, further said, “It is the very first drama project of my life and I had to make certain preparations to get into the character, henceforth I took inspiration from movies like ‘Darlings’ and ‘Gangs of Wasseypur’, since those movies are based on dark comedy and it would help me build my dialogue and comedic timing, and improve my acting skills.

Kajal credited the director of Meri Saas Bhoot Hai, Rahib Siddiqui for helping her improvise her acting skills and support her in playing the role with perfection.

She added: “My director plays an important role in shaping Gaura as he kept guiding me all the way to hold the character and improvise me in the places that were needed. He has been my greatest support and I feel blessed to have such a supportive director and team.”

‘Meri Saas Bhoot Hai’ is an official remake of the Bengali drama ‘Chuni Panna’. The story revolves around Gaura and Rekha played by Kajal Chauhan and Sushmita Mukherjee respectively. ‘Meri Saas Bhoot Haiaired on Star Bharat.
