Take the next step! Michael Allio and Danielle Maltby go strong after falling for each other – and causing drama – in season 8 of Bachelor in Paradise.

“Meeting Danielle changed my life and everything we’ve done since then has gotten better and better,” Michael A., 38, revealed during the Season 8 reunion special, which was filmed Nov. 4 and aired after the BiP final on Tuesday 22 November.

Danielle, 37, told the audience that life was “pretty awesome” with Michael after she was seen earlier in season 4 of the Bachelor education spin-off series in 2017.

The former neonatal nurse confessed that she was cautiously optimistic but hopeful about joining season 8 of BiP can lead to a romance. By the end of their journey, Michael, for his part, was confident in his relationship with the Wisconsin native.

“I’ve only told one person in my life I love you, but I love you,” he told Danielle at the reunion. The season 21 Bachelor education contestant was stunned and replied, “I’m so shocked right now.”

Despite being surprised, Danielle told viewers she was moving to Akron, Ohio, where Michael lives with his son, James. The “WoMed” podcast cohost insisted she not move in with her beau, but she was ready for their next adventure.

“I love that boy,” she said before Michael gushed about how quickly James and Danielle connected.

He explained, “She’s remarkable with him and that’s no surprise at all.”

When BiP Season 8 started, Michael hit it off Sierra Jackson. However, the businessman shocked fans on the Oct. 10 episode when he broke up with the former Bachelor education contestant, 27.

“The last few days I have taken the time to enjoy where we are now, knowing that this is all happening so fast. But at the same time, things take time. I can’t put my finger on it, there’s something [missing] with us,” he said. “I know you can sense I’m being watched. It is not my intention to do that. I really don’t.”

The single dad — whose wife, Laura, died in 2019 after battling breast cancer — told Sierra he thought they were better off as friends.

Michael later confessed via an Oct. 22 TikTok video that she “should have handled the breakup better,” admitting it was wrong to accept Sierra’s rose and zodiac sign gift shortly before ending the relationship.

The Ohio native drew attention again the following week when he immediately hooked up with Danielle upon her arrival. Like Michael, the nurse lost a loved one when her fiancé, Nick Haag, died in 2011 of a drug overdose.

After their first meeting in Mexico, Michael told the cameras that he may have just gone on the “last first date of my life”. While the pair seemed made for each other – and attached to their respective losses – Sierra was not okay with how things were going.

“I feel very respected. Going to meditate. #bachelorinparadise,” Sierra tweeted during the Oct. 17 episode, referring to Danielle’s arrival as “#convenient.”

Bachelor in Paradise alum Jared Haibonwho got married Ashley Iaconetti in 2019 sounded the next day on the budding romance.

“I’m for Danielle and Michael. In the end, I think Sierra is a wonderful person and I love her so much. From what we gathered when we were on the beach it was more like maybe Michael wasn’t feeling it with Sierra,” Jared, 34, told Exclusive Us weekly on October 18. “It was more about his relationship with Sierra than ‘He’s not ready for a relationship’.”

After recording BiP, Michael and Danielle continued to grow close. They revealed at the reunion that they even attended Well Adams and Sarah HylandAugust wedding as a couple and met each other’s parents.
