Porn star Ron Jeremy evades trial for 30 sexual assault charges and is sent to a state hospital

Porn star Ron Jeremy was admitted to a state mental health hospital after being found incompetent to stand trial for rape and sexual assault, a spokesman for the Los Angeles District Attorney said.

Jeremy can be held in hospital for up to two years. A hearing on his claims is scheduled for May 8.

The former adult entertainer, 69, was charged with 30 counts of sexual assault – after being accused by victims as young as 15 years old.

Prosecutors allege that Jeremy — born Ronald Jeremy Hyatt — restrained some of the women and raped or sodomized them — and had sex with others who were asleep or unconscious.

But in January, Los Angeles Supreme Court Judge Ronald S. Harris ruled that Jeremy was not competent to assist in his defense, according to his attorney, Stuart Goldfarb. Harris said the former porn star suffered “incurable neurocognitive decline” after medical reports said he has dementia, is “incoherent” and suffers from hearing loss.

Jeremy was one of the biggest names in the adult film industry, appearing in over 2,000 films from the 1970s. He has been in prison since his arrest in 2020.

His severe dementia was determined through a review of medical records and interviews with Jeremy.

Lianne Young, a former British porn star named Billie Britt, accused Jeremy of assaulting her at a Halloween party on the Sunset Strip in 2000.

She was dressed in a bikini at the former House of Blues at a porn industry Halloween party when she says Jeremy pushed her onto a table and forced himself into her.

According to Young, the ordeal lasted only a matter of seconds as she fought off Jeremy. Young said at least three other industry executives saw the attack, but none responded.

“People were like, ‘That’s Ron,'” Young said.

Speaking after learning the defendant would not stand trial because of his mental incompetence, Young said she felt “numb.”

She told the LA Times, “They knew about his condition before they got all of us involved.

“They knew full well he had dementia, so I’m very disappointed they didn’t sort that part out before they let us go on that emotional journey for two and a half years.”

In additional commentary to The Mirror, she said: ‘I really can’t put into words how angry I am. I never get closure.

“He could have been brought to trial much sooner, but Ron was built to be this untouchable king and his lawyers kept delaying the case.

“I felt abused again and like a pawn in a game. It felt like being hit in the stomach by a 200 mph tennis ball.”

In August 2020, Jeremy wrote on Twitter, ‘Can’t wait to prove my innocence in court! Thanks to everyone for all the support.’

According to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office, the charges against Jeremy included 12 counts of forced rape, seven counts of forced oral copulation, six counts of sexual assault, and two counts of penetration while the victim was asleep or unconscious.

The alleged crimes took place in nightclubs and bars in the Los Angeles area, during a photo shoot and at Jeremy’s home, the district attorney’s office said.

Jeremy was charged with four counts of sexual penetration by a foreign object and two counts of sexual penetration of an unconscious or sleeping person.

Further charges included charges of lewd acts with a child under the age of 14 or 15, sodomy by force, and assault with intent to commit rape.

Los Angeles Attorney General George Gascón said Jeremy’s alleged assaults took place over the course of more than 23 years and involved 21 victims between the ages of 15 and 51.

Jeremy allegedly sexually assaulted a 15-year-old girl known as “Jane Doe 5” on June 12, 2004, penetrating her with a foreign object, according to the August 19 indictment obtained by DailyMail.com.

Another girl, 17, was allegedly raped in 2008 in a home in the Woodland Hills neighborhood of Los Angeles. In the court documents, she was referred to as “Jane Doe 22.”

One of the first charges against Jeremy is that prosecutors allege he raped a 19-year-old woman during a photo shoot in the San Fernando Valley in October 1996.

The indictment alleges that in 2000 Jeremy had “unlawful” sexual intercourse with “Jane Doe 19” through “coercion, force, coercion, threat or fear of immediate and unlawful bodily harm.”

Jeremy was also accused of sexually assaulting another woman at a City of Industry strip club sometime between 2002 and 2003, officials said.

Another woman, 21, went to Jeremy’s home where she was allegedly sexually assaulted in 2010. In the court documents, she was referred to as “Jane Doe 23.”
