On the road to recovery! Carey Hart gets back into his gym routine despite having a catheter installed in his chest to fight off an infection.

Breast snake baby ???. My old and infected self is still after it ????,” the former motocross athlete, 47, wrote via Instagram on Thursday, Feb. 2, alongside a photo of himself lifting weights. “Halfway through my course of antibiotics, and @foxmoto couldn’t have dropped their training line at a better time for me! Check out all their tech gear for men and women!!! Things are legit. No excuses folks, you got this. Go for it, give 100%. ??????.”

Hart revealed last month that he had the catheter put in so he could inject antibiotics after contracting an infection while on vacation.

“Well this sucks ?. Found out a few days before Christmas that I have an infection in some old hardware in my body,” he shared via Instagram at the time. “After straining my brain over the holidays, I got this tunneled catheter in my chest. Now I have to inject antibiotics for the next 41 days to knock this sucker out.

Hart continues: “I can handle a bone sticking out of my skin, but this catheter is absolutely unnerving ?. Wonder if I can push some caffeine through it? Just kidding. It’s not how I wanted to start 2023, but thankful it was found and modern medicine has the tools to treat it. It’s going to be 6 long weeks, but I got this. Come back better and stronger. Take care everyone and stay healthy!”

Weeks before contracting the infection, the professional motorcyclist was in hospital for surgery on his neck to fuse vertebrae to correct a problem with his joints.

“Operation went great!!!!! I’ve been up and out of bed 3 times while cruising through the surgery center,” he captioned a selfie from his hospital bed in early December 2022. “Eventually the vertebrae fused because the joint was a little hammered. Special thanks. to dr. Bray from @discmd ????.”

Two years earlier, Hart was there for his wife, Pinkwhen she had surgery. In November 2021, the ‘So What’ musician, 43, faced a health scare herself and had to undergo hip surgery. At the time, the Grammy winner gushed about how lucky she was to have her man by her side.

“Being married to an athlete who has had hundreds of surgeries, I meet some of the best doctors in the world. I am never completely grateful. It’s been a brutal first week filled with tears and pain from depression, sores from meds and constant fever, but my @hartluck got me through it,” the artist wrote via Instagram, adding: “(Nobody recovers from surgery like him, he’s not real.)”

The BMX rider and the ‘Just Like a Pill’ singer tied the knot in 2006 after four years of dating, but separated after two years of marriage. The couple reconciled in February 2010 and welcomed daughter Willow a year later and son Jameson in 2016.

“15 years. Proud of us honey,” Pink captioned a slideshow of photos with her husband in honor of their milestone birthday in 2021.” Look, sometimes stubbornness pays off. What a wild ride it was once we learned how to stay in our racing line. Here’s at least the next 15 months hahahah. I love you and I love our family.”
