Scheana and Brock explain his absence from ‘Pump Rules’ premiere

Take the backseat? After making waves in Season 9 of Vanderpump Rules, Scheana Shaythe husband, Brock Davieswas not featured in the season 10 premiere on Wednesday, February 8.

Brock, 32, told Us weekly on Tuesday, Feb. 7 that the couple was “just figuring out our schedule” as they navigated the cameras and daughter Summer, 22 months.

“[He was] also at home with the baby. So we have my mother [help us babysit], but we try to keep it with us as much as possible. So I’m like, ‘Cool. I look like the mom who goes out alone all the time.” But it’s like we also have work to do, you know? And we have a child,” added Scheana, 37. “So in the beginning we were still trying to find our way with, ‘Are we both going to all these events?’ And he said, ‘Go ahead, you know, it’s like the first week of film, do your thing.’”

Despite an absence from the first episode, fans will get to see Brock this season as the cameras captured their wedding. He told Us that he was “crying” all day long.

“I calmed myself down after, like the first look, I was like, ‘We’re good, we’re good.’ And then we walked out and saw a rainbow and I was like, ‘What the hell?’” he recalls.

Scheana agreed that “it was perfect timing” for the romantic moment.

“Money can’t buy that. … The wedding started 25 minutes late. We would have missed the rainbow if it had started on time,’ she remarked.

The new season of the long-running show also follows the aftermath of both Katie Maloney And Tom Schwartz And Rachel Leviss And James Kennedy quit. In the premiere, fans learned that Katie, 36, said her “only rule” for staying friends with Tom, 40, is that he doesn’t hook up with anyone in their friend group.

As a result, things get dramatic when she learns that Tom and Raquel, 28, are kissing during Scheana and Brock’s wedding weekend welcome party.

“Personally, I think when you get divorced or go through a breakup, I think you need time to heal. But if you can get back together and be friends, that’s for the best,” Scheana said Us of Katie’s hope that her ex-husband wouldn’t date within the cast. “I’m in a place now where I’m friends with all my exes, but it’s taken years to get there. And especially with them it’s so difficult because they still work together. With me I could move to Vegas or not have my person on the show. So with them, I think it’s just finding their footing, but also respecting each other moving forward and kind of figuring out that new norm.

Vanderpump Rules airs on Bravo Wednesdays at 9 p.m. ET.
