Bury the hatchet. The cast of Southern charm didn’t hold back during parts 1 and 2 of the season 8 reunion – but has anything actually been fixed?
Shep Rose, Craig Conover and Austen Kroll facing the women of the cast: Taylor Ann Green, Olivia Flowers, Madison LeCroy, Kathryn Dennis, Naomie Olindo, Leva Bonaparte and Venita Aspen in September to discuss all the highs and lows of the past season.
The reunion, which aired October 6 and 13, focused on the drama surrounding exes Shep, 42, and Taylor, 27, as well as Austen’s dynamics with both Madison, 31, and Olivia, 30. (Austen, 35, and Madison called it quits in December 2020 after two years, while Olivia revealed during part 1 of the Season 8 reunion that she and Austen weren’t together after dating for less than a year.)
Shep, who parted ways with Taylor in July after two years together, was on the hotseat on both reunion episodes.
“You f-ked another woman in Texas. Multiple women,” the clinical assistant yelled at her ex during part 2 of the special, which was filmed shortly after they broke up. “It’s been two fucking months.”
She went on to ask, “Why do you use women like that? Why did you use me like that?” Shep, for his part, replied by saying that he is “not keeping score” and that he “will always love Taylor” despite their current dynamic.
After Taylor called herself “the whore who stuck around long enough,” her castmates came to her rescue and tried to calm her down.
“I feel for both of them. I really think Shep likes Taylor too,” Leva, 43, told the group. “I don’t think he treats you like he loves you. It makes me sad.”
Craig, meanwhile, managed to keep himself out of the firing line for most of the two-part special, except when it came to his feelings about his ex-girlfriend Naomie’s brief romance with Costar. Whitney Sudler-Smith. Naomie, 30, also talked about her relationship with the filmmaker, 54, which fans saw in multiple episodes this season.
The founder of L’Abeye called the affair a “slow burn”, noting that in recent years they have bonded with the loss of their fathers.
“We are still good friends. It was never more than a really good friendship that changed for a second and then went right back,” Naomie told host Andy Cohento which Craig replied, “I think Whitney really liked you.”
While the 33-year-old founder of Sewing Down South later claimed he “loved” that Naomie and Whitney had found each other for a short time, his costars didn’t take it.
“I’m not going to say it wasn’t absolutely shocking,” Craig finally admitted, noting, “You just don’t hang out with people’s exes.”
