Stunning seven-bedroom California home designed by architect Frank Lloyd Wright for sale for $4.25 million
One of Frank Lloyd Wright’s beautifully designed homes is now on the market in California and can be yours for $4.25 million.
The “Fawcett House,” a seven-bedroom, six-bathroom home in California’s Central Valley, was recently listed as a historic landmark and is perfect for anyone who likes to mix indoors and outdoors.
‘We no longer have an outside and an inside as two separate things. Now the outside may come in, and the inside may and will go out,” the famed architect said of the home, according to Frank Lloyd Wright Building Conservancy.

The property is located in California’s Central Valley
Located 120 miles southeast of San Francisco, the home is one of several designed by the architect whose designs have been praised for their open and light concepts.
Other properties designed by Wright have sold for as little as $725,000 to one currently listed for $7.95 million.
The Los Banos home sits on 76 acres of land in the Central Valley and won the 2019 California Preservation Design Award for Restoration.
However, it almost did not come to fruition.
After the land’s owner, Buck Fawcett, pitched the site to Wright, the architect said he didn’t want to do it: “There’s not much beauty there.”
“Actually, Mr. Wright, the Central Valley of California contains some of the most fertile farmland in the world, and you should consider it an honor to build a house there,” Fawcett replied.
Wright’s interest was piqued, and it eventually became one of the few houses on open acres of land the architect designed in his lifetime.

The house almost didn’t happen, as Wright originally said he “didn’t see much beauty there.”

“Actually, Mr. Wright, the Central Valley of California contains some of the most fertile farmland in the world, and you should consider it an honor to build a home there,” said the owner of the land.
The beautiful home is also considered one of the best examples of Wright’s signature “Usonian” home.
The term refers to about sixty middle-income houses designed by Wright.
Usonian homes tend to be smaller, often single-storey homes with no garage.
They are usually L-shaped to fit around a garden patio and rely on solar heating and natural cooling, meaning more windows and doors.
“A strong visual connection between the interior and exterior spaces is an important feature of all Usonian homes,” notes the California Preservation Foundation.
That was the intention, according to the Frank Lloyd Wright Building Conservancy.
‘They belong to each other. So form and function become one in design and execution when the nature of materials and method and purpose are all in agreement,” said Wright.

Photos of the property shared by Zillow Gone Wild, a social media page that highlights interesting and sometimes hilarious entries, this week.
The photos clearly show the abundance of natural light that the house sees through the abundance of windows.
The house has large open spaces and long narrow ones all anchored by light.
The 1955 construction caught the attention of some social media users who were impressed by the beauty of the house and the large number of windows.
“So if I buy this house, should I stop throwing stones?” joked one person.
“I love everything, but someone else will have to clean all those windows and glass doors!!” someone noticed.

In addition to the seven bedrooms, the house has six bathrooms

‘We no longer have an outside and an inside as two separate things. Now the outside may come in, and the inside may and will go out,” Lloyd Wright said of the house
