There’s a Pathaan wave everywhere, and the movie has racked up record collections every show, every screen, and every day. Meanwhile, Ved was an Indian film that saw consistent collections since its release four weeks ago. The Riteish Deshmukh and Geleia D’Souza starrer Marathi film had collected 20.67 crores in the first week despite Avatar: The Way of Water behind it.
Then the audience feedback was so good that the second week was almost the same 20.18 crores, hence it became a blockbuster. The third week there was a drop of just over 50%, but that was acceptable since the job was already done. Moreover, Marathi movies as they are have a limited target audience. Still to collect 9.95 crores wasn’t a bad deal at all.
However, what has really surprised is the fact that the film actually entered even in its fourth week 6.11 crores. Now considering that Pathan golf had started to build in a very strong way and the Shah Rukh Khan starrer even released mid-week on Wednesday, the squeeze was felt. Yet Ved survived, and how!
Though the screens and shows of the Riteish Deshmukh-directed film have dwindled in its fifth week, it lingered on the fifth Friday with 24 lakhs more coming in. Today and tomorrow, the movie will jump further, which should allow for the fifth weekend. more than 1 crore.
Post that needs to be seen how much more that comes in, although with 57.15 crores already in its kitty, the movie should get pretty close to 60 crores by the time its fifth week is up. However, the blockbuster will eventually miss the 65 crores mark.
