Whether it’s a gravity-defying facial or an herbal bath, there’s nothing more rejuvenating than a spa-centric getaway. Here are some places to escape from California and New York to Mexico and London, whether it’s a press trip or an actual vacation.

Cabo San Lucas, Mexico

The source at Chileno Bay Resort Cabo vacations just got a whole lot healthier thanks to The Well, the very personal wellness retreat in New York City that attracts the likes of Reese Witherspoon, Gwyneth Paltrow, Nina Dobrev, and Emma Roberts. That’s because The Well’s first west coast home just opened at the oceanfront Chileno Bay Resort & Residences, Auberge Resorts Collection.

A new four-day on-site program, The Well Reset, says chief medical officer Frank Lipman, “provides guests with a results-driven itinerary tailored specifically to their wellness goals, even while on vacation — whether that means resetting their gut, improving metabolic health or balancing blood sugar.

The program takes place in the resort’s new wellness center with daily mindful movement classes, a meditation lounge with hanging beds and a floating fire, a bathhouse for stimulating hot and cold sensations in the lymphatic system, and even a bougainvillea-draped nap garden complete with a self-guided pool for reflexology therapy and curated nap programming. In addition to this designated “wellness playground,” designed by New York interior designer Nina Gotlieb, there are six new wellness suites. There, visitors can experience in-room programming plus a personalized Turn Up service each morning with healthy smoothies, ascending yoga sequence cards, and a meditation album. Evening turndown includes a face mask with light therapy, confirmation cards and a foot massage roller. There is also an aloe bar, Biologique Recherche cryosticks and The Well Relax Body Oil to aid in recovery.

This is not a one-massage-and-done spa; the programming is literally 24/7 with advanced sleep monitoring technology as well. Fittingly for its location, The Well at Chileno Bay offers compelling offerings that blend ancient practices with modern science. A particularly dreamy one: spiritual Celestial Bathing, with a fireside ritual and biodynamic moon and starlit float sessions in an outdoor pool. Yes, you can still get a margarita at the swim beach or the three level pool. But maybe it’s not necessary. Single occupancy starts at $5,000 per night, double at $9,000; aubergeresorts.com or shipping.com
