Wife of disgraced rugby player Joe Westerman felt ‘physically ill’ when he saw him perform sexual acts

The heartbroken wife of disgraced rugby league player Joe Westerman has said his actions tore their family apart and she felt ‘physically ill’ after he was filmed having a sexual act with a woman in an alley last weekend .

Lauren Westerman, 33, said the shocking clip filmed outside a Yorkshire Greggs in the early hours of the morning had caused irreparable damage to her and her children, but added she was ‘glad’ to have seen it before she saw him kissed again.

The devastated woman spent Valentine’s Day alone with their three children, saying she felt “so sorry” for them after they cruelly got the video on Snapchat from other kids at their school.

The woman in the video is believed to be the wife of one of the back rower’s best friends and has now lost her job following the incident, Ms Westerman said.

Ms Westerman said she could ‘never get it out of my head’ after telling friends her marriage to the Castleford Tigers star was ‘a trillion per cent complete’.

She told The Sun: “There are absolutely no excuses for what he has done, not just to me, but to our children and the rest of the family.

“I went to Twitter and saw that it had been taken down and deleted many times and then about half an hour later it was posted.

“I just felt physically ill.”

She added, “The truth is he only told me because it was on social media.

“But I’m glad it was found, because the thought of kissing him afterwards just makes me sick.”

Ms. Westerman says Mr. Westerman confessed to his actions the next day after being caught with the blonde estate agent after a day-long drinking session.

He later publicly apologized to his family and friends after the graphic video went viral on Twitter.

Ms Westerman said of the woman in the video: ‘It’s the children that I feel for. Our children and her children.

‘She’ll never survive. She lost her job and her memes are all over the internet, her kids will see that.’

She reiterated that her marriage to Joe is “a trillion percent complete” and that she is “numb” about the incident.

The couple married in 2014 and have three children together.

It is believed that Joe has also been shunned by his so-called best friend whom he has known for many years.

Joe was a member of his friend’s wedding party when he tied the knot over 10 years ago.

A friend told MailOnline: “There are two families whose lives have been destroyed by this.

A friend of Lauren’s said, “The marriage is over for good and Joe knows it. Lauren will never take him back.’

MailOnline revealed this week how Lauren – who married the casual attacker in 2014 – had not spoken to her husband since the footage emerged and focused on protecting their children.

The elementary school teacher said, “I wish it had never happened. My poor children!’

Now she has told friends there is no turning back for the Castleford Tigers player.

Lauren shared how she was “shocked and numb” by the betrayal and the impact it would have on their children, especially their 15-year-old daughter.

She reportedly told friends, “There’s no way you can come back after something so horrific.

“It’s a trillion percent done.

The rugby player, who was given a ‘substantial fine’ by his club, said he was ‘incredibly remorseful’ after being caught.

The club also instructed the back-rower to help educate young people about the effects of alcohol and “dangers of social media when in the public eye.”

Originally from Pontefract, West Yorkshire, Westerman started his career with Castleford Tigers in 2007 after graduating from Featherstone Lions youth club.
