THE turbulent relationship between Queen Camilla and Prince Harry is to be explored in an in-depth Channel 4 documentary.

The Duke of Sussex and his step-mother’s complex feelings for one another have been touched on in other TV shows, including the sixth and final series of The Crown.

But this as-yet-unnamed production will delve deeper into the royal rift.

In his autobiography, Spare, Harry shocked the world when he described Camilla as “dangerous” and “the villain” because, he claimed, she was forging alliances with the media to improve her image.

A TV insider said: “Although this documentary will focus on various elements of Camilla as our new Queen, her dynamic with Harry is tackled in the new show.

“That is likely to be one of the subject areas gaining the greatest attention and these Channel 4 documentaries on the royals aren’t afraid to go where other profiles often fear to tread.

“These shows have proved in the past they can spark a chain reaction that lead to further revelations and create major controversy.”

Channel 4’s explosive 2020 documentary, Diana: The Truth Behind The Interview, which re-examined the deceitful methods used by Martin Bashir to convince the Princess to appear on the BBC’s Panorama in 1995, in part prompted an independent investigation.

The inquiry’s findings led to Princes Harry and William issuing scathing statements, criticising the Beeb and its presenter.

The creators of this new royal documentary certainly have a strong starting point.

In a TV interview last year, Harry elaborated on his claims that his step-mother was “dangerous”.

He said: “She was the villain, she was a third person in [my parents’] marriage, she needed to rehabilitate her image. That made her dangerous because of the connections that she was forging within the British press.

“Because of the connections that she was forging . . . there was open willingness on both sides to trade information. And with a family built on hierarchy, and with her on the way to being Queen Consort, there was gonna be people or bodies left in the street because of that.”

PARADISE BACK AND HITS TON

DEATH IN Paradise has rolled out the red carpet for guest stars in the new series – which kicks off with the BBC drama’s 100th episode.

Ralf Little is back as DI Neville Parker, who can’t seem to have a quiet week on the Caribbean island.

Joining the cast is ex-EastEnder Sean Maguire, who appeared in the first storyline in 2011.

The latest instalment sees commissioner Selwyn Patterson (Don Warrington) fighting for life after he is shot by a mysterious assassin while celebrating 50 years of police service.

Emily Atack’s mum Kate Robbins, comedian Ronni Ancona, Ted Lasso’s Kevin Garry plus ex-Coronation Street actor Richard Fleeshman will also feature in the new series, which starts on BBC One and iPlayer on February 4.

It’ll be a touch warmer than Weatherfield.

CRUISE queen Jane McDonald was asked to help choose the world’s best drag acts for the Beeb.

She joined the second series of RuPaul’s Drag Race UK Versus The World, which returns to BBC Three and iPlayer on February 9.

The singer and presenter of Channel 5’s Cruising With Jane McDonald cruise ship telly presenter sat with Sinitta on the panel for the award-winning Snatch Game.

It involves the queens impersonating pop culture figures such as the two star judges, who will be seen alongside RuPaul deciding who triumphs.

“Each one of the queens were spectacular and fabulous, and showcased talent from right across the globe.

“May the best drag queen win.”

COLIN IN BOMBING DRAMA

COLIN FIRTH is giving romcoms a break to star in something a lot more serious.

The British actor has signed up to appear in true-life drama Lockerbie, playing the role of grieving father Dr Jim Swire.

He lost his daughter when Pan Am Flight 103 was blown up over the small Scottish town of Lockerbie on December 21, 1988, killing all 259 passengers, plus 11 Lockerbie residents.

Jim and his wife have pursued justice ever since.

The five-part Sky series is based on book The Lockerbie Bombing: A Father’s Search For Justice, which Jim co-wrote.

Production will start in the coming months.

SUE GETS TASTE OF THAI LIFE

SUE PERKINS has topped up that bulging air miles balance by heading to Thailand for her travel series.

Following the success of the comic’s jaunt to Alaska, Channel 5 renewed her travelogue, with a new three-parter in the Far East.

Sue Perkins: Lost in Thailand will be screened later this year.

She will continue to give Bear Grylls a run for his money by ensuring her visit is action-packed – like scaling the Thai highlands and abseiling into limestone caves in Chiang Mai, while also exploring the island of Phuket and bustling Bangkok.

Sue said: “What I love most about travelling is the people you meet along the way, and we met some wonderful people on this adventure.”
