Over the years Love Island has seen many couples trying to make it in the outside world, after they have left the villa.

What happened between Sophie and Connor on Love Island?

Sophie Piper and Connor Durman coupled up straight away on the first ever winter Love Island in South Africa in 2020.

Although, Connagh Howard tried to steal her away from him, they got back together.

It’s so intense in the villa, it’s nice to do things naturally in the real world when you’re out.

However shortly after the re-coupled, Connor was dumped from the villa, and days later so was Sophie.

The pair then reunited in the outside world, with Sophie announcing that they were “exclusive”.

When did Sophie and Connor break up?

After they left the villa, there was constant speculation that they had split up.

This was mainly down to the fact that the country went into lockdown soon after Love Island winter 2020 came to an end.

However in March 2020, the couple denied they had split.

In an interview with The Sun Online, Connor revealed they are keeping their romance out of the limelight, which means not plastering it all over social media.

He told us:  “It’s going really well. We’ve not been on social media together, but we’re still meeting up all the time.

“We’re just keeping things quiet at the moment. We’re both happy with how things are going.

“It’s so intense in the villa, it’s nice to do things naturally in the real world when you’re out.

“We want to go nice and slowly and not jump ahead.”

But after months of whispers that they had broken up, in July 2024, Sophie and Connor split for good.

Why did Sophie and Connor split?

The pair split because their relationship “fizzled out”.

Because of lockdown, they hadn’t seen each other since March 2020, so they decided to call it quits.

A source told The Sun at the time: “Things just fizzled out. They never even went official.

“It just didn’t have a chance to get started because of lockdown and they both agreed it was better to just stay friends.”

In 2024, Sophie went back into the Love Island villa for another shot at romance on All Stars.

Speaking about her return to the show, she said: “I had a fun experience the first time around but I didn’t go the full way and find love, so I would love to find someone this time.

“I’m quite chilled and don’t want drama, so I think I will approach this time round in a similar way.”

Meanwhile, Connor has stayed out of the spotlight.
