Britney Spears and her estranged husband, Sam Asghari, have nearly finalized their divorce, six months after he filed to end their 14-month marriage.
According to new legal documents, obtained by TMZ, the 29-year-old actor’s team turned over his financials to the popstar’s attorneys, which indicate they are on ‘the verge of settling.’
This includes ‘the declaration of income and expenses among the required paperwork, as well as a list of assets and separate and community properties.’
The outlet pointed out that ‘filing financial disclosures is often the last step taken in a divorce that suggests all parties are coming to an agreement.’

Sharing information about your finances with your spouse is a requirement for getting a divorce or legal separation in California.
In November, it was reported she and Asghari had a ‘cordial’ relationship and she was paying around $10,000 per month for him to live in a high-rise apartment in Los Angeles.
Britney has been using the prominent divorce attorney Laura Wasserman to handle her side of the divorce settlement.
In the early stages of negotiations, both of the exes were said to no longer be speaking to each other, and instead they communicated solely through their lawyers.
Sam was originally reported to be planning to challenge the prenuptial agreement that he and Britney signed, despite Wasserman being famous for her rock-solid prenups.
The Black Monday actor was said to be considering speaking out about his experiences while married to the Toxic singer, though the current state of negotiations seems to have mollified him.
The two filed for divorce in August, citing irreconcilable differences.
Although they aren’t at each other’s throats now, it’s unclear how much communication is going on between Britney and Sam, or how much of a support he might be to her going forward.

After they broke off contact early in their divorce process, sources close to Britney worried that it could have a deleterious effect on her mental health, as she had cut off most of her family members and Sam had previously been her biggest support.
Spears previously gushed about her ex in her 2023 memoir, The Woman in Me.
‘I have an appreciation for how stable he is. I love that he doesn’t even drink,’ she wrote of Asghari, who she met in October 2016 while shooting the music video for her hit track, Slumber Party.’
The mom-of-two told also told readers that she ‘knew’ she wanted him in her ‘life immediately.’
‘The chemistry with us in the beginning was insane. We couldn’t keep our hands off each other,’ she recalled.
Additionally, she called him ‘a gift from God.’
