Klopp will step down as manager of the Reds at the end of the season following a successful nine years at the helm.

Carragher had always been a big fan of the German and advocated for his hiring to replace Brendan Rodgers in 2015.

Like a lot of Liverpool fans, the retired defender was saddened by Klopp’s announcement last month.

But for fans of the Reds’ rivals the news was met with joy with the club potentially facing an uphill battle to replace Klopp.

Neville was very much one of those supporters as he messaged Carragher after the announcement.

Carragher revealed what Neville wrote during an episode of their podcast, The Overlap.

He said: “So I wake up and I get the Klopp news.

“[Neville] then texts me – he’s actually in the same place skiing – and I’m like, ‘Oh no.’

“He wrote ‘I’m in Courchevel, your manager is f****** off and that’s you lot f***** for another 30 years.'”

Klopp still has the chance to end his time at Anfield with a historic quadruple.

The club are in the Carabao Cup final, where they will face Chelsea on February 25.

There are also the issues of the Premier League, which they currently lead by five points, as well as the FA Cup and Europa League.
